University of East Anglia spin-out company Cellexcel beat some stiff competition to win the KPMG Tech Innovator East of England round.
The shortlisted businesses who pitched for the regional title against Cellexcel were bit.bio, Virilitas Labs, Developing Experts, VOLTQUANT Ltd, Paragraf, Graphene Trace Ltd, ED Hub Ltd, DeepMirror and EDIFORM Ltd.
"We're delighted for Cellexcel, the shortlist included 10 amazing businesses so to win this round is a fantastic achievement. It's wonderful to see Norwich so well represented with ACG portfolio company, Developing Experts, UEA spin-out, Virilitas and Norwich Research Park company Ediform also making the final. This truly shows the potential that we have in our region and we couldn't be more proud. Congratulations to all involved." Laura Hood, Business Development Manager, Anglia Capital Group.
The KPMG Tech Innovator Award is a prestigious competition which invites fast growing scale-up businesses from early stage to accelerated growth to pitch their innovations to regional, national and global industry experts.
Cellexcel's vision is to enable Net Zero by enhancing the performance and increase the usage of plant-based materials in manufacturing without the use of PFAS or other non-biodegradable materials that prevent recycling.
Cellexcel progresses to the national final in London in July to pitch against the winners from seven other regions for the title of Tech Innovator in the UK 2024.
